Privacy policy
GDS Viewer does not collect, send or share any data. It has no internet access, so the files you open never leave your device.
What the app stores on your device
- The files you open are read on your device only. The app never changes or uploads them.
- Recent files: so you can reopen them, the app remembers up to 8 recently opened files: their names and Android's reference to each file. When Android does not let the app keep access to a file (for example a file shared from a mail app), the app keeps a private copy in its own storage, at most 100 MB per file and 300 MB in total. Other apps cannot read this storage.
- Shortcuts: up to 4 recent files appear as shortcuts, with their file names, when you long-press the app icon.
- Settings: the theme you chose.
Removing a file from the recent files list also deletes its copy. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android's settings deletes all of the above.
What the app does not do
- It has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
- It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking.
- It asks for no permissions: no access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone or other files. It can only read the files you choose to open with it.
- Its data is not included in Android backups, so your layouts do not end up in a cloud backup or on a new phone.
Google Play
If you install the app from Google Play, Google may collect information such as installs and crash reports as described in Google's privacy policy. The developer only sees anonymous statistics and crash reports from this in the Google Play Console.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
